Aurora researched, evaluated and prepared a comprehensive database identifying all multi-family residential properties in the nation’s capital. This tool allowed the corporation to project grantmaking and fundraising standards, and effectively assess staffing and operational needs. It also allowed the organization to create homeownership and housing opportunities through innovative partnerships and initiatives. Urban development projects create affordable housing opportunities.
In South Africa, Aurora designed and implemented an innovative program to assist chronically unemployed ex-combatants and veterans access to job training, education and employment opportunities. In Nigeria, Aurora has been working with local partners to build the capacity of the Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Center, providing updated vocational curricula, training of trainers and delivering essential training equipment and supplies.
