Aurora helps war veterans and other ex-combatants transition to civilian life and gainful private sector occupations.
As Nigeria and South Africa begin to reconstruct
their nations and demobilize after years of military strife, there is
great need to establish an environment for the smooth transition of
ex-combatants, including former veterans and members of guerilla forces,
from the uniformed services to appropriate employment in a re-energized
economy.

In South Africa, Aurora designed and implemented an innovative program to assist chronically unemployed ex-combatants and veterans access to job training, education and employment opportunities. In Nigeria, Aurora has been working with local partners to build the capacity of the Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Center, providing updated vocational curricula, training of trainers and delivering essential training equipment and supplies.
